Imperfection is beauty. Madness is genius: To Write Scam On Her Arms. →
So who exactly is surprised that it turns out that To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) are disgusting sexist, homophobic douches who only really exist to scam emo kids into going to church?
I’ve been suspect of these assholes for ages, so I did some research, and…
They’re not perfect. A friend at my school started a TWLOHA UChapter. She supports LGBT and some members of the larger, national organization have been linked to gay-bashing or considering homosexuality a horrible sin. Finances can be sketchy in many areas. Very few, if any organizations, are ever 100% loyal and committed. However, the larger TWLOHA message is one of hope, love, and recovery. You know how rare it is sometimes for teenagers to give money? Many t-shirt purchases, but they aren’t donating thousands of dollars. It isn’t perfect. Certainly flawed, but it is a HUGE organization, an organization nationally known, popular and highlighting an issue that I’ve dealt with. So, if even just one person feels more loved at the end of the day and does not cut themselves, I vote that it is a triumph. I highly doubt the majority—-if any of the complainers writing and reposting this will ever make significant change in this area. Until you can top their renown and the support they have given out, how about stop the negativity. If there is something wrong, correct it, don’t whine. And when TWLOHA helped raised the needed funds to aid in HOPELINE (a non-religious and LGBT supporter) to launch IMAlive, then yeah, they are still pretty damn OK.
